Our name
Once upon a time’ - how many stories don’t start with those words? Our story also begins that way.
Once there was a young South African and he had a thought. At the beginning of everything there is always a thought. His thought was like a philosophy about life, about being and how to be… Not that he ever called it a philosophy, to him it were just some ideas about how it should go between people, and he lived his life accordingly.
He wanted to build together on a new South Africa, maybe even a new world. Together, he used that word often. Giving chances to another person is what he wanted because he understood the art of rejoicing in the wellbeing of others.
But he never called it a philosophy. ‘Quite normal, making other people happy’, that is how he described it. And fortunately that’s how it is, quite normal. Millions of people are trying to do just that.
And we try as well, building on a new world. Quite normal.
And still, for us that young Zulu, his name was Emmanuel, is special because indirectly
he was instrumental to the setup of our studio.
That is why our studio is named ‘studio Emmanuel’. Because we want to give each other chances and make happy. Quite normal.
